General Questions:

 What is paramedical tattooing?

Paramedical tattooing is a specialized form of tattooing used to restore or blend skin affected by scars, surgery, stretch marks, or medical conditions.  It includes treatments like scar camouflage, areola restoration, stretchmark rejuvenation, and skin tone correction.

 Does it hurt?

Most clients report little to no discomfort (on a scale of 1-10, most clients report it at a 2 or 3).  A professional-grade topical numbing cream is used during your cosmetic tattooing sessions to keep you comfortable.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on the area being treated. For powder brows and lip blushing, you'll have 2 sessions: your initial session and your touch-up session.  Most procedures require multiple sessions for full results.  You'll receive a personalized plan during your consultation.

 What's included in each session?

Each session includes:

  • Red or green light therapy (cosmetic tattooing only)
  • Topical numbing (cosmetic tattooing only)
  • Customized pigment selection for brows, lips, or camouflage and skin tone correction
  • After care instructions and products

Do you work on all skin tones?

Yes!  We work with all skin tones and textures.  Pigments are custom-blended to match your natural undertones for seamless, natural-looking results.

 Can everyone receive these treatments?

Certain skin types and conditions may not be eligible for treatment, including:

  • Active or recent keloid formation
  • Clients undergoing chemotherapy (must be 1-year post-treatment)
  • Clients currently taking antibiotics (must be 2 weeks post-treatment)
  • Clients using Accutane products (must be 6 months post-treatment)
  • Areas with birthmarks or moles (these cannot be tattooed)
  • Unmanaged hypertension, diabetes, or thyroid issues.

 What might affect my results?

Several factors can influence your results, including:

  • Medications (especially for thyroid, diabetes, or high blood pressure)
  • Autoimmune conditions or a history of cancer treatments
  • Smoking, sun exposure, and skin type
  • Age

 Do you offer financing?

Yes! I partner with Cherry Pay, which allows you to split your total into monthly payments.  There's no hard credit check, and the approval process takes just seconds.

What is your cancellation or no-show policy?

A $25 non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your appointment.  This fee is applied to your total.  If you no-show or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, the fee is forfeited.

 What's the healing process like?

You may experience mild redness, swelling, flaking, darkening of the treated area, or dryness during healing.  Following your personalized aftercare instructions is key to achieving the best outcome.

 Are your results guaranteed?

Every person's skin is unique, and so is their healing process.  While we use the highest quality tools, pigments, and techniques, results can vary based on many factors -- including skin type, scar characteristics, lifestyle, aftercare, and overall health.  Because tattooing is both an art and a science, no ethical provider can guarantee a specific outcome.  We will always provide an honest assessment, set realistic expectations, and support you throughout the healing process, but final results will vary from person to person.

How long do results last?

The longevity of your results depends on the treatment, your skin, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare instructions.  Most cosmetic tattooing and scalp micropigmentation treatments remain visible for several years, while scar and stretch mark camouflage results can be long-lasting once the desired outcome is achieved.  Period touch-ups may be recommended to keep your results looking their best.

Scar Camouflage & Inkless Revision

How old does my scar need to be before it can be treated?

Most scars should be fully healed and mature before treatment, which is typically at least 12 months old.  The scar should no longer be red, raised, inflamed, or changing in appearance.  During your consultation we'll assess your scar to determine whether it's ready for treatment.

Can all scars be camouflaged?

Not every scar is a good candidate for camouflage.  The best results are typically achieved on scars that are fully healed, stable, and have a relatively smooth texture.  Raised, active, or unstable scars may require additional healing or may be better suited for inkless scar revision before considering camouflage.  Every scar is unique, which is why a consultation is essential.

What's the difference between scar camouflage and inkless scar revision?

Scar camouflage uses custom-blended pigments to help match the surrounding skin and reduce the visibility of lighter scars or stretchmarks.  Inkless scar revision uses a specialized needling technique without pigment to stimulate the skin's natural healing response and improve the texture and appearance of certain scars and stretch marks.  In some cases, combining both treatments provides the best overall result.

I have vitiligo. Can you help?

Possibly.  Vitiligo affects everyone differently, and not all areas are appropriate for tattoo camouflage.  The condition should be stable for at least 5 years and must be released by a treating doctor.  We will use a test area, and if at least 15%-20% of color is retained after about 6 weeks, then we will proceed with further treatments.

I had cancer. Can you help?

Possibly.  Any treatments in our office requires a doctor's approval first.  You will also need to be, at minimum, 12 months post-treatment as radiation and chemotherapy affect the texture of your skin, how your skin retains ink, and also affects how your body heals.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

What types of hair loss can scalp micropigmentation help with?

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) can improve the appearance of many types of hair loss by reducing scalp visibility and creating the illusion of greater hair density.  It may be suitable for female pattern hair loss, male pattern baldness, diffuse thinning, postpartum hair loss, hormonal hair thinning, traction alopecia, and hair transplant scars (FUT and FUE).

Will I need a touch-up appointment?

Most clients require multiple sessions to build natural-looking results safely and gradually.  Once your treatment has fully healed, a touch-up may be recommended to refine color, density, or overall appearance.  The exact number of sessions varies depending on treatment, your skin, and your desired outcome.

Post-Operative Lymphatic Massage

When should i start post-operative lymphatic massage after surgery?

The ideal time to begin post-operative lymphatic massage depends on your surgeon's recommendations and the type of procedure you had.  Many clients begin within the first few days after surgery once they have been medically cleared.  We recommend following your surgeon's instructions before scheduling treatment.

How many lymphatic massage sessions will I need?

Every recovery is different.  The number of sessions depends on your procedure, swelling, healing progress, and your surgeon's recommendations.  Some clients benefit from only a few treatments, while others achieve the best results with a series of sessions throughout their recovery.

Body Sculpting

Is body sculpting a weight-loss treatment?

No. Body sculpting is designed to complement a healthy lifestyle by helping improve body contour and temporarily reduce the appearance of stubborn areas.  It is not intended to replace proper nutrition, exercise, or a weight-loss programs.  It is, however, a complementary treatment to add in when achieving weight loss, after post-operative surgery recovery, and just general body goals.

Facials

Which facial is right for my skin?

We try not to overcomplicate things.  We have two specific facials for someone suffering from stubborn acne or for men, however, we don't believe in boxing our facials.  Each client has unique skin needs and may have more than one concern or goal they want to achieve.  Therefore, each facial is customized based on you specifically.
