Scar Camouflage
Scar camouflage is a paramedical tattoo technique designed to soften the appearance of scars by blending them with the surrounding skin tone. Using carefully matched pigments and advanced tattooing techniques, this treatment can help reduce the visibility of scars and imporve the overall appearance of the skin.
You May Benefit From This Treatment If You Have:
- Surgical scars from cosmetic or medical procedures (such as drainage sites, face lifts, open-heart surgery, or port placements)
- Injury scars
- Burn scars
- Skin graft scars
- Acne scarring, including indented or depressed scars (atrophic scars)
- Raised scars (hypertrophic scars)
- Stretch marks that have fully healed
- Loss of pigmentation or areas of hypopigmentation
Consultation Requirement
Because every scar is unique, a consultation is required before treatment. During this consultation we evaluate the scar's color, texture, and overall condition, discuss your goals, and determine whether scar camouflage, scar revision, or a combination of the two techniques would be the most appropriate approach for your skin.
Healing & Results
Healing time can vary depending on the size, age, and condition of the scar being treated. Some clients may require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results. As the skin recovers and the pigment settles, the scar can appear more balanced with the surrounding skin, helping soften its overall visibility.
Important Considerations
Scar camouflage is most successful when the scar is fully healed, flat, and lighter than the surrounding skin. Raised scars, scars that are still healing, or scars with significant texture changes may require scar revision treatments before camouflage can be performed.
During your consultation we will evaluate the scar and determine the most appropriate treatment approach based on your skin type, the condition of the scar, and your desired results.
